DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa (WHP) — Bull riding has long been a controversial activity, with animal activists wary of mistreatment and supporters insistent of care and good fun. On Saturday, BullRide Mania took place at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, and one of its owners, Donna Kennard, wants to shut down rumors about the activity. “People think we abuse our animals, and why would I abuse my livelihood?” Kennard asked.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Family and friends of a missing fire police captain who was found dead over the weekend are now left to pick up the pieces. Tony Bortner, 51, was reported missing on Oct. 17. His body was found Friday on the Susquehanna River following over two weeks of searching. Now Bortner’s wife and the community are left to reconcile the loss of a man they say would have done anything for his community. “Our family, we’re lost, obviously,” said Tony’s wife, Brenda Bortner.
