On his nightly program recently, long-running HBO news pundit Bill Maher, in reference to one of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris’s dire misassessments of Hamas’s nefarious intent, demanded that she just “shut up” already. Coming from a lifelong liberal, Maher’s acerbic reprimand should cause pondering Jews to sit up and take note.

The American Jewish Committee (AJC)’s recently released survey, conducted in March and April of 2024, provides a disheartening insight into the lack of awareness on the part of Jewish Americans as to the dire straits in which we presently find ourselves. Amongst the 1,001 Jewish online participants, it was found that “a significant majority of American Jews harbor deep concerns about antisemitism in the United States (87%) and remain strongly supportive of Israel (85%)”.

President Joe Biden’s address yesterday on Israel’s war was almost everything you could have hoped for. It was tough. By naming Hamas as the enemy of civilization and condemning their acts of evil, it was unambiguous. It pledged unconditional support for Israel. In retrospect, it seemed like the most pro-Israel speech that an American president has ever delivered.

The civilian death toll in Israel is now over 700. Many of the victims were cravenly executed, within view of family members, in random sprees of house-to-house massacres. The sight of lifeless Israeli mothers, fathers and children stripped naked with their hands bound behind their backs tells the story of pre-medieval barbaric killers. In video after video, mobs of chanting revelers kick dead bodies around like discarded refuse.

If anyone was wondering if the Biden administration’s decision to give Iran $6 billion was a bad idea, the Oct. 7 massacre of hundreds of Israeli civilians by Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists controlled and funded by Iran is proof positive that it was. I wonder if Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, John Kerry or Robert Malley have yet connected the dots. Will there be a collective humbling of this group who now, for all intents and purposes, are up to their armpits in blood?

If ever there was a bad idea,( giving Iran $6B) today’s massacre of 200 Israeli civilians by Hamas and Islamic Jihad ( both controlled and funded by Iran) firmly cements the point without question. I wonder if Joe Biden, Kamala, Tony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, John Kerry, or Robert Malley have yet connected the dots. Might there be a collective humbling of this group who now for all intents are up to their armpits in blood. This was a well planned and orchestrated attack.
