The doomed superyacht of tech tycoon Mike Lynch is set to be raised from the Sicilian seabed next month, an inquest was told today. The 184ft Bayesian, which sank in August last year with the loss of seven lives including Mr Lynch and his teenage daughter, capsized after she was caught at anchor during a freak storm. Italian authorities are continuing a manslaughter probe into the deaths on the £30 million vessel, the inquest also heard.

A family have been forced to flee their home after a mother and her teenage son suffered an allergic reaction during work to renovate a nearby play area. Zoe Rowntree, 43, and her 16-year-old son, who both have a latex allergy, were left struggling to breathe when rubber safety matting was ripped out of the old playground opposite their home.

A mother has admitted killing her five-year-old son who died at the family home days before Christmas last year. Claire Button, 35, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of her child Lincoln during a short court hearing today but denied murder. Emergency services rushed to the house in South Ockendon, Essex, on December 15 after receiving reports of serious concern for the welfare of a child and a woman. Police officers and paramedics tried to save 'Link' but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A pub sparked a furious public backlash after naming a cocktail after notorious date-rape drug Rohypnol. The Catherine Wheel pub in Norwich posted a photo of the lurid green drink ‘Rolyhypnol’ standing on a table in the venue on social media on Friday. Offering it as its £5.50 cocktail of the month, it said the ‘devilishly smooth’ drink ‘goes down way too easily’.
