Three Cardinals prospects have notably stuck out with hot starts to the 2025 season. We are into May, which now means the Minor League baseball season is approaching a full month of game action. The sample sizes become a little harder to ignore, and some players are quickly standing out to be above the level they are currently playing at. The Cardinals have had an enormous amount of bad luck in regards to the injury bug striking their top prospects list.

The Cardinals may have struck gold in the later rounds of the 2024 draft. The Cardinals are seeing some early success from a few members of their 2024 draft class early on in the 2025 season. First-round pick JJ Wetherholt has been doing his thing for Double-A Springfield and currently is carrying an OPS over .900. Fourth-round pick Ryan Campos has been showing elite plate discipline, as he has 14 walks in 15 games for High-A Peoria.

A majority of the top prospects had productive weeks in their respective affiliates over the last week. Another week of Minor League baseball is down as we are slowly inching our way closer to the month of May. Sample sizes are becoming large enough to judge as we head towards the new month. The next couple of weeks could determine which guys earn their deserving promotions leading up to the MLB Draft in June.

Randel Clemente pieced together a hitless week on the mound for the Palm Beach Cardinals en route to being named the Florida State Pitcher of the Week. A St. Louis farmhand in Palm Beach took home Player of the Week honors across Minor League Baseball for the third straight week. After infielders Cade McGee and Josh Kross brought home the award in consecutive weeks, Palm Beach pitcher Randel Clemente brought the award back to Palm Beach for his stellar week on the mound in Jupiter.
