Photo by John Smolek/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images When we tried this exercise for night one of the 2025 NFL Draft, we were pretty dang accurate. With the San Francisco 49ers on the clock at 11 on Thursday night, we predicted to be seated in front of your television at 6:15 pm PST to ensure you don’t miss the 49ers selection. Within ten minutes of that prediction, Mykel Williams was named as San Francisco’s first selection of what is scheduled to be 11 picks for the 49ers this weekend.

Photo by Stacy Revere/Getty Images After months of speculation, we have finally reached the 2025 NFL Draft. The San Francisco 49ers haven’t been impervious to that speculation, with rumors in the last week that the 49ers are looking to either move up, move back, or stand pat, which doesn’t give any insight whatsoever. Photo by Nic Antaya/Getty Images If you’re a fan of the San Francisco 49ers but not the National Football League as a whole, Thursday’s first round of the 2025 NFL Draft might drag to watch with the 49ers scheduled to pick 11th. That means ten picks of analysis, speculation, and camera shots of NFL hopefuls waiting for their names to be called until the spotlight is on the 49ers. But just how long will that wait be?

We’ve examined the scenarios of the San Francisco 49ers picking at 11 and trading back, depending on how the board falls. It only makes sense that the next scenario we explore is the most fun: the idea of the 49ers trading up in next week’s draft. AdvertisementTwo slots make sense for John Lynch, depending on whether Lynch and the 49ers want to take a swing at one of the two top prospects in this draft or if they want to ensure they get one of the top players at a position of need.

Good group of numbers. Slightly concerned about Sigle (36 is just a bad football number) but it’s manageable.
