The Chamber Singers of Iowa City, in its 53rd season, will present a concert titled “Darkness and Light” at 7 p.m. Sunday, March in the Voxman Music Building’s beautiful concert hall.

Yesterday, in the canal near my home, I spotted my first female... - there's no way to express the name of this organism in English. The closest translation would be "mud-monster" or maybe "swamp golem." The males are everywhere in these parts. They live in the canals around the ancient mangroves. They are equipped with two primary arms and a singular tail-like appendage, which works as a root to anchor them to the sediment below.

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — It's been a big first year on the job for Florian Villaumé. Since taking on the position of CEO for Newfoundland and Labrador not-for-profit industry association techNL last May, the organization has been the lead on a very big project — a new Innovation Centre. Located in the former RONA building on Torbay Road, it will serve as a base of operations for established companies that are a step or two ahead of those currently calling Genesis' incubator program home.
