    Keratoconus is a disease of the cornea that, if left untreated, can lead to loss of vision, decrease in quality of life, and potentially blindness. As optometrists, we are the gatekeepers of the management of keratoconus, barring the increasingly reduced amount of partial or full-thickness corneal surgical transplants performed.
