Emerging Brisbane forward Logan Morris is putting together very impressive numbers early in his life as an AFL player. The premiership Lion, who turned 20 last month, kicked a career-high five goals in Saturday’s 11-point loss to GWS at the Gabba. So far in 2025, Morris has booted 25 goals which has him placed equal 12th on the AFL’s goal kicking charts. In his career to date, he has kicked 49 goals in 32 outings which prompted high praise from Tim Watson.

Luke Hodge has recalled the time in his career when he was happy to have fully torn a muscle in his leg. It occurred in 2018 in his first season with the Brisbane Lions, started with calf soreness at training and finished with him sprinting across the road to avoid a car. As a result he tore his plantaris - a small muscle located in the calf. The story came up this week after an early diagnosis of West Coast co-captain Oscar Allen’s lower leg sustained on Sunday night.

Kane Cornes has urged Nate Caddy to hold off signing a new contract with Essendon this year. Reports from Tom Morris on Tuesday suggested the management of the exciting 19-year-old forward was in talks with the Bombers around a multi-year deal. Morris posted on X: “Essendon & Nate Caddy’s management are deep in negotiations around a multi-year extension. No signature yet, but it will come.

West Coast co-captain Oscar Allen has been implored to be as present as he’s ever been for the struggling club. The 26-year-old is set to be sidelined for the medium term with a calf/Achilles injury sustained in Sunday night’s loss to Carlton. With speculation swirling that Allen could depart the Eagles for Brisbane at season’s end, there have been some suggestions that perhaps he has played his last game in royal blue and gold.
