    Status epilepticus (SE) constitutes approximately 3% of emergency medical services (EMS) evaluations, carrying substantial morbidity and mortality.1 Studies suggest that unidentified SE is common during prehospital care and is likely associated with large delays in first-line benzodiazepine treatment.2-4 However, this association has not been examined in a broad US population.
