The Cleveland Browns will open training camp in about a month-and-a-half. For the first time in a long time, preseason games will be meaningful. The combined practices with the Carolina Panthers and the Philadelphia Eagles will be the same. Let’s hope meaningful games work their way into the regular season. I’m dreading worrying about the NFL Draft on April 23, 2026. The Browns wrapped up mandatory mini-camp last week. The good news is that everybody showed up.

Father’s Day is a yearly reminder of my bond with my father and the bond I have with our kids. It should come as no surprise that sports is a driving force in our family’s life since my first day on this planet. On game days, my father worked for the Browns as an electrician at the old Cleveland Municipal Stadium. He ran a tiny scoreboard located behind home plate. The board was fastened to a walkway ramp that heavy hitters used to get to stadium suites or between the upper and lower decks.

Earlier this week, we flipped the calendar page to June. If you are keeping score at home, there are fewer than 100 days until the Cleveland Browns host the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2025 NFL season opener. The Cleveland Guardians continue to ride a roller-coaster of winning and losing streaks. The NBA Finals are in progress, and Cleveland Cavaliers fans wonder what if? How will the front office make any moves without breaking up the best team in the Eastern Conference during the regular season?

As we start the second half of the year, it’s time to do a little summer cleaning. The notes on my desk have piled up, so it is time to get cleaned up. The Guardians and the Reds spiced things up towards the race to June. I’m unsure if the “Francona Factor” drove the Reds to recently sweep the Guards. But Cincinnati seemed to play with a chip on its shoulder, sweeping Cleveland in the three-game series. Maybe it was me, but the Reds acted like every RBI hit sent them to playoffs.

Sitting in lower bowl. Feels like the Bronx in our section. So many Yankees fans. Highlight of night was Yankee fan dancing on Yanks dugout like a slider glider after homer. Only to be ejected by Cleveland Finest. #letgoguards
