    Two weeks separate us from the NFL Draft. The more I listen, watch and read about the draft, the more I believe the Tennessee Titans will select Cam Ward with the first overall selection.     The NFL owner’s meetings in Florida were eye-opening for Browns fans. Ownership finally addressed the elephant in the room. By admitting a mistake, the Haslam ownership group took a big step forward. The adage about admitting the truth is the first step forward to recovery holds true here. Jimmy and Dee Haslam may have set themselves free when admitting to a group of reporters an albatross of a mistake. The mistake? It was trading for and signing quarterback Deshaun Watson.

    It’s March, so let’s play ball. It still seems too early for baseball to start in Northeast Ohio. Usually, it’s time to freeze on Opening Day. The Cleveland Guardians opened this season on the road at Kansas City on March 27 and then they will head to San Diego and Anaheim, Calif. I will give credit to Major League Baseball. They got it right. Starting a northern team in a warm-weather city or a dome is logical. Nothing is worse than having early-season games canceled because of snow.

    Welcome to the heart of March. It is the time of the season when all sports collide. The weather is all over the place, and so are the daily musings of sports. I have plenty of things on my desk, so let’s do some spring cleaning. Does someone want to explain to me who the Cincinnati Bengals are? Those who complain about the way the Cleveland Guardians manage payroll normally look at the Bengals and think things could be worse. Not anymore.
