The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday said it has cleared 44,687 polling and collation agents to participate in the September 21 governorship election in Edo State. The electoral umpire, in a list of polling and collation agents it released on Thursday, said the figure is made up of 43,043 polling, 1,452 wards, 179 local government and 13 state collation agents, Guardian reports.

The Arewa Community in Edo State has endorsed the candidacy of Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie for the September 21, 2024 governorship election in the state. The endorsement took place at the PDP secretariat when the Arewa Community PDP paid a courtesy visit to the state Chairman of the party, Dr. Anthony Aziegbemi. The visit was to congratulate the Chairman on his safe release from the kidnappers’ den, as well as introduce Sarahaisu Usman as the acting Chairman of PDP Arewa Community.
