Vestas has announced it has received three orders amounting to 113MW for the supply of turbines for schemes in Japan, Costa Rica and Italy. The first deal is with Tohoku Electric Power Co for its 34MW Shiroishi Kosugo wind farm in Japan. It covers the supply of eight V117-4.2MW units and a 20-year AOM 5000 service agreement. Delivery of the hardware is scheduled for first quarter 2026, with commissioning in third quarter 2026. Toko Electrical Construction Co will act as EPC contractor for the site.

Italian renewable energy developer Ortus Power Resources Italy (OPRI), a joint venture between Ortus Climate Mitigation LLC and Omnes Capital’s Capenergie 4 fund, has hit financial close of up to €100m bond issuance with I Squared Credit to finance the construction of up to approximately 740MW of solar assets across Italy.

The UK has become the first G7 nation to end coal-fired power generation as it closed its last plant at Ratcliffe-on-Soar, in Nottinghamshire, England. The move ends the country’s 142-year reliance on fossil fuel and paves the way for it to reduces its contribution to fossil fuels, said sources in the renewables industry. The Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station began generating power in 1968 and had a total generating capacity of 2.116GW.

Macquarie Asset Management has entered into an agreement to purchase 100% ownership of Danish O&M provider Ziton. Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 7, advised by Macquarie Asset Management, has entered into a share purchase agreement with funds advised by Permira Credit and other existing shareholders to acquire all issued and outstanding shares of Zappy TopCo ApS and its wholly-owned subsidiary Ziton A/S.
