Police investigating a serious collision near Anwick are appealing for witnesses. The collision happened on Monday (April 14) at around 10.15am on the A153 junction with Church Lane at Anwick. Officers say it involved a van and two cars - a white Ford Transit, a pink Kia and a white Fiat 500. A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “The passenger of the Kia sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life changing.

Opposition is building against plans for a new biogas plant on the outskirts of a village near Sleaford. A packed public meeting at Anwick Community Centre saw around 120 villagers voice their concerns about the plant being put forward by Stream BioEnergy UK, with parish councillors urging residents to write in to Lincolnshire County Council, which will consider the proposal, as well as their MP and North Kesteven District Council as consultees.

Families enjoyed some Easter fun with free outdoor activities in Sleaford on Saturday, including a trail with the chance to get a Cadbury chocolate egg. A special Easter garden was opened in Sleaford’s Market Place where families could pick up a leaflet to embark on the Easter trail by finding all 10 town centre businesses and venues displaying the special window stickers shown, revealing the hidden word they spell out to claim their prize.

Villagers took their first steps on a recycling revolution when they joined in a scheme to reduce plastic waste involving household cleaning and laundry products. Councillors in Anwick have got on board with environmentally-friendly company, Fill, based in Northamptonshire, offering residents the chance to refill their containers and bottles with a range of laundry, household and body cleansing products from large drums.

A former newspaper correspondent for the Louth Leader has celebrated her 100th birthday with friends and family. Margaret Rolls is currently a resident at Doulton Court care home in Sutton on Sea. Margaret moved to Sutton on Sea in 1982 and became involved in several local activities, namely The Sutton Players, Probus Club and the local carnival. Her and her husband formed The Marisco Music Hall Company, raising funds for many local charities.
