Having spent a good deal of time advising facilities management ("FM") providers on significant FM outsourcing arrangements, I've noticed a trend among organisations to outsource FM functions to expert providers. A significant proportion of FM activity is still undertaken in-house, which means that these organisations turn to trusted advisers when it comes to navigating their options as "first generation outsourcers".
