Caroline 'Caz' Grant, 39, took up the sport so she could spend more quality time with her husband. Sadly, their love of golf on its own couldn't save their relationship and the couple, who met while both serving in the RAF, ended their four-year marriage. But the sport then became part of her ‘therapy’ and helped her to rebuild her life again.

    Mary Lamb, 65, endured a chest infection, stomach bug and was '10 minutes away from hypothermia' during her intense three-day mountain challenge. Despite the setbacks, she conquered Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon with support from the British Army and her assistance dog Sheldon. "Honest to God, I don't know how I got through it," Mary admitted. "I was told it couldn't be done and so I was just going to do it and that was all there was to it. You just push on through.
