President Donald Trump issued another raft of controversial pardons on Tuesday that are raising eyebrows, given the circumstances surrounding them. He offered full pardons to reality show couple Todd and Julie Chrisley, former nursing home executive Paul Walczak and former Culpeper County Sheriff Scott Jenkins. The Chrisleys and Walczak were convicted of fraud, while Jenkins was convicted on bribery charges in what officials characterized as a “cash for badges” scheme.

Now that the bill has cleared the lower chamber, the Senate will take it up under a process called reconciliation that will allow the upper chamber to bypass a Democratic filibuster and approve it with a simple majority.
