Dozens of young Australians reached out to Gabby Petito's family for help after a documentary series on her death launched in Australia, according to Gabby's father Joe Petito and her stepfather Jim Schmidt. The three-part Netflix series American Murder: Gabby Petito became available on the streaming service in February and spent weeks on the platform's most-watched list. It outlined the coercive control Gabby Petito experienced from her fiance Brian Laundrie in the lead-up to her death.
