The Conroe ISD board of trustees approved in a 5-2 vote Texans for Excellence in Education as the superintendent search firm at a May 29 special meeting. Superintendent Curtis Null is leaving the district to take the superintendent post in Lake Travis ISD, and Ted Landry was named interim superintendent May 19. The gistCISD Director of Purchasing Brian Broussard told the board the steps needed to choose a firm as the district received nine submissions.

The detailsShenandoah Public Works Director Joseph Peart presented to the council the list of nine bids the city received on May 8. The city approved Solid Bridge Construction, a Huntsville-based company, for $108,622. In the invitation to bid, the city stated the project will include 273 feet of storm sewer. Peart told the board the area has a history of heavy rain and flooding near Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital.
