The Charities Act 2022 contains some significant changes which have been introduced gradually with the final changes coming into force on 7 March 2024 (with the exception of the proposed change to the law on ex gratia payments – it is not known when this will be implemented as the final form of this has yet to be resolved). MDR, or Multiple Dwellings Relief, was a policy introduced in 2011 to reduce barriers to investment in residential property and to augment the housing supply in the private rented sector.

The Flexible Working (Amendment) Regulations 2023 have been laid before Parliament. Damian Kelly, partner in Lodders Employment team, outlines some of the changes expected. Employees will be able to request flexible working arrangements from the first day of employment. Previously, an employee had to have 26 weeks’ service in order to be able to make a request for flexible working.
