    Water contaminated with iron ochre has been pouring into the harbour since November 2022 [BBC]Two years since a harbour's water turned orange, frustration continues over the lack of a solution. Tests have identified iron ochre getting into Whitehaven's Queens Dock in Cumbria through a culvert, and although there have been a number of multi-agency meetings to find a solution, nothing has been put in place.

    The twin sons of a pastor and his wife who were born conjoined have celebrated their first birthday, 10 months after an operation to separate them. The "Moses Miracle Twins", as their mum and dad call them, spent months in Great Ormond Street hospital in the lead up to and recovery from surgery. Christian and Primrose Moses say their faith helped in challenging circumstances Now home on Teesside with their two older brothers, the twins are thriving. "It was tough," said Primrose.

    A woman who lost her baby during the coronavirus pandemic is writing a guide for employers about how to support staff with pregnancy loss. Rebecca Charlton from Embleton, Northumberland, was five months pregnant when her waters broke and her son Jasper was too young to survive. She said she was asked for a sick note, adding: "I'm not sick. I've just given birth, and my baby has died."The government said it had commissioned new guidance on workplace bereavement.

    Campaigners working to save the pool at a seaside lido say they have not given up hopes of reopening it, despite the council filling the pool with stones. Renovation work is being carried out at Cumbria's Grange Lido, with plans to reopen it as a public space next year. Currently, in order to make the area safe, the empty pool has been filled with about 2,000 tonnes of stone. But the council says it is working with the campaign group Save Grange Lido, which wants the 50m pool restored.
