Get Up Keep Going Community Interest Company (CIC) was founded by Sharon Bailey and already runs a number of health and well-being initiatives. She explained that the aim of the family fishing group was to “promote positive mental health while helping families reconnect through shared time in nature".

2 1/1 A talk on the history of the humble inn sign is the next event for Bolton’s lively branch of u3a (The University of the Third Age). The organisation is a registered charity of around 300 members and part of a UK-wide collection of 1,000 charities of people who no longer work full-time. They come together regularly to keep active, learn new things and have fun – from walking to talking, bowling to bridge and mindfulness to maths.

In fact, Blackrod Cricket Club has around 100 youngsters including a new under-13s girls’ section. So successful has the family club become that it has just launched a fundraising campaign to buy new practice nets, artificial wickets and extended run-ups.
