During the November meeting, the ELNCA elected new members. Rick Baldwin and Valencia Hudson were reelected to their board seats for a three-year term starting 2024. Additionally, Rick Baldwin was reelected President, Jeff Philliber was reelected Vice President, and Tracy Lehrer was reelected Treasurer.

Mathew George, previously the Board Secretary, will now serve as KNO’s next Board President. Former President Megan Owens has served for two consecutive years and is no longer eligible for reelection to a board position.

Will Hudson of Hudson Development and his attorney Henry Bailey gave a presentation. Hudson proposes building a two-story, 24-unit multi-development complex at 2348 Hosea L. Williams Drive, next to the La Fonda restaurant.

The homeowner lives in the 200 block of Rockyford Road. The request was to reduce the southern side yard setback from 7 feet to 3 feet to allow for an addition to an existing family dwelling. After discussing with the homeowner and neighbors, the KNO Zoning Committee opposed the variance request.

Attorney Ivy Cadle with Baker Donelson law firm spoke on behalf of CitySwitch, a company that develops and manages cellular towers. CitySwitch wants to construct a new wireless telecommunications tower on the railroad right-of-way, a property owned by CSX Transportation, Inc.

The hotel will feature two different brands: Tempo and Homewood Suites, both owned by Hilton. The developers are seeking to have 100% of the parking off-site.
