SAN ANTONIO – Every week, Metro Health inspectors check out dozens of restaurants across San Antonio. Behind the Kitchen Door is a series where KSAT investigates health inspections of local restaurants. In honor of National Food Safety Education Month, Metro Health and a local restaurant invited KSAT to follow an inspector during a planned visit at Papouli’s on Huebner Road. Metro Health Inspector Rose Abacar checked the food, equipment and cleaning supplies at the restaurant.

SAN ANTONIO – The journey to Oz begins in San Antonio as Wonder Theatre brings Black history and culture to the stage this month with the opening of “The Wiz.”According to a press release, the modern musical is a Black retelling of the classic children’s novel “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” featuring a soundtrack filled with soul, gospel and rock music.

SAN ANTONIO – Dead roaches, rodent poop and small flies around a dishwashing station are some of the violations that health inspectors found at three San Antonio restaurants that could make you sick. Behind the Kitchen Door is a series where KSAT investigates health inspections of local restaurants. Inspectors found 10 items that were out of compliance at the Genghis Grill on 1903 N FM 1604 East in a July 2024 inspection.

Behind the Kitchen Door is a series where KSAT investigates health inspections of local restaurants. Inspectors found four violations at La Torre de Jalisco on 9511 Poteet Jourdanton Freeway Access Road during its June 2024 inspection.
