Now Broadband and O2 top the list of most complained about phone and broadband firms, according to new data from Ofcom. The regulator's quarterly complaints figures show Now Broadband saw an increase in complaints for both their broadband and landline divisions, while O2 continued to be the most complained about mobile provider. Ofcom publishes complaints data every three months to help people compare providers when they shop around and push providers into improving their services.

The energy regulator has issued an urgent warning to thousands of households still using old meters ahead of a huge change next month. The 40-year old Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS), which piggybacks off the long-wave channel for BBC Radio 4, sends meter readings to suppliers, but will end on 30 June. There were 430,000 households still using RTS meters by the end of March, according to Energy UK, and suppliers say they are struggling to switch enough customers ahead of the deadline.

Thousands more families will face higher taxes by 2028 as higher wages and frozen thresholds mean they will reach the child benefit threshold, figures shared exclusively with This is Money reveal. Former Chancellor Jeremy Hunt raised the threshold at which the Government starts to claw back child benefit from £50,000 to £60,000, last year.

MPs are urging HMRC to start using AI to improve its productivity and 'out of date' services as the cost of collecting taxes soared by more than half a billion pounds. A report by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) found that the tax office spent £563million more between 2019-20 and 2023-24 on collecting taxes. It also warned that HMRC's customer service is 'out of date' with too much reliance on post that is 'slow, costly and inconvenient'.
