Karen Lola Dickey, 66, of Houston, Texas, and formerly of Fort Madison, Iowa, died Dec. 23, 2024, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Penn. She was born May 17, 1958, in Keosauqua, daughter of Matthew Wendell and Marjorie Lou (Sullivan) Dickey. Karen graduated in 1977 from Fort Madison High School and in 1992 from Indian Hills Community College, where she received a degree as a physical therapist assistant.

Chelsey Victoria Manning, 34, Fort Madison, was arrested at 11:48 p.m. Thursday in the 2300 block of Avenue L and charged with possession of a controlled substance-marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was taken to the Lee County Jail. Police responded to two reports of vandalism, one at 12:59 a.m. Thursday at 1215 Ave. C, and another at 1:16 a.m. also at 1215 Ave. C. A burglary was also reported, at 2:37 a.m. again at 1215 Ave. C.
