ALDI has a well-deserved reputation for being the cheapest of Australia’s main supermarket chains, trouncing Coles, IGA and Woolworths in the discount stakes. But what’ s the single cheapest product it sells? For this investigation, these are the rules:I’m only looking at regularly-stocked products with a fixed price sold at ALDI Australia. Instinctively, that means they’ll have to be under $1. This means no special buys, whether at regular price or when marked down to clear.

Score thousands of Qantas Points the easy way while paying for your streaming. Excellent! My all-time favourite supermarket bonus deal for Qantas Points is finally back. If you buy a Netflix card from Woolworths this week, you'll score 20 times the dollar value in Everyday Rewards points. For a $50 card, that means 1,000 bonus Everyday Rewards points, which converts to 500 Qantas Points if you've linked your accounts (and you definitely should).

Way back in 2014, I wrote a piece I’m still proud of for Gizmodo Australia, explaining why Canberra should be considered the Star Wars Holiday Special capital of Australia. The reason? The legendary bomb from 1978 – which featured all the key original Star Wars cast alongside 1970s variety TV stalwarts such as Bea Arthur and Diahnn Carroll – was broadcast in Canberra in 1984, years after it had “disappeared” from most official Star Wars history.

Everyday Extra is losing a major benefit. I've long been a big fan of the Woolworths Everyday Extra scheme. For $7 a month, you can score shopping discounts and bonus Everyday Rewards points that are worth a lot more than $7. But a forthcoming change has me somewhat peeved. From 1 June 2025, Everyday Extra members will no longer receive 10% off a monthly shop at BIG W. According to Woolworths, this is because the prices are already so cheap there the discount doesn't make sense. Yes, really.

I’ve whined before about ABBA’s overpriced approach to merchandise. Now the savvy Swedes are at it again. This year marks the 40th anniversary of ABBA’s legendary self-titled album, the one with ‘Mamma Mia’ on it that proved they weren’t just Eurovision one-and-a-bit-hit wonders. So as expected, there’s a bunch of new tatt on offer via the official store. I’ve never been interested in the half-speed vinyl singles that form the backbone of these anniversary campaigns (I’m a CD addict, after all).

Hey @Jira given that I have already switched on the new navigation could you pipe down with the unavoidable daily reminder to switch it on? Major waste of my time at this point
