INTRODUCTION It is well established that forest canopies are hotspots of local biodiversity with diverse insect communities (Erwin, 1983; García-Robledo et al., 2020; Stork, 1988, 2018). There may also be numerous functional linkages between canopy insect species and the various resources provided by tree crowns in these elevated systems (Kirmse & Chaboo, 2020).
