Many NHL analysts see him as a strong two-way forward. He’s physical, skilled and consistent. Mark Giordano shared his honest thoughts about playing with the young forward during his time in Toronto. “He’s a monster. He’s strong. He’s powerful. He’s a big kid,” Giordano said. Mitch Marner scored 97 points this season and is three points away from his career's first 100-point season. But, this is not the first time Marner has come close to hitting 100 points. In the 2022-23 NHL season, he scored 99 points, missing the mark by one point. The season before that, he scored 97 points and remained three points short. Back in the 2018-19 season, Marner scored 94 points and missed the mark by six points. So, he has missed hitting the 100-point mark in three previous seasons.

Nathan MacKinnon will miss Thursday night’s game against the Vancouver Canucks as he remains out with an undisclosed injury. Coach Jared Bednar said MacKinnon - who hasn't missed any game all season - will “probably not” play either/both away back-to-backs on Saturday and Sunday. Colorado Avalanche coach Jared Bednar spoke about Gabriel Landeskog’s possible return to the NHL lineup. Landeskog was sent to the Colorado Eagles for a conditioning assignment and practiced with the AHL team on Wednesday. "When he says he's ready to play, he's gonna play," Bednar said on Thursday, via Colorado Hockey Now's Aarif Deen. There is still no exact date for his return. Landeskog has not played since June 26, 2022, when the Avalanche won the Stanley Cup.
