    The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has announced the suspension of all political office holders,appointees in Rivers State. Those affected include; Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, ex Secretary to State Government, Dr, Tammy Danagogo, State Commissioners, Chairmen and members of all boards, councils of agencies, commissions, institutions, and parastatals. Others are Special Advisers, Special Assistants, and Senior Special Assistants.

    Despite the rage and kick against President Bola Tinubu’s action in the declaration of a State of Emergency in Rivers State, the Sole Administrator, Ibok-Ete Ibas, has resumed and announced the release of withheld Rivers State allocations. The Supreme Court on February 28, 2025, ruled and ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to stop allocating funds to Rivers State until a valid 2025 budget is presented to the State House of Assembly led by Martins Amaewhule.

    Supporters of Rivers State Governor under the aegis of National Supreme Council for Sim Worldwide have vowed that the governor cannot be impeached, stating that he has not also violated any law to warrant such a call. The group has therefore, challenged the Tony Okocha-led All Progressives Congress (APC) who on Monday, ordered the governor to resign or be impeached, to tell the world why the governor should be impeached.
