My introduction to Daredevil was through the 2003 Ben Affleck movie. I'm not proud of that, but it is what it is. My brother had always been a much bigger fan of the character, and through his appreciation I was exposed to the complex, nuanced, and gritty details that my first impression of the hero had largely glossed over. Rife with themes of Catholicism, corruption, and morality, the Daredevil comics consistently deliver darker and more intense stories than many other corners of Marvel comics.

The original Galactus Trilogy as told in Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's "Fantastic Four" #48-50 remains one of the most influential stories of the Marvel Universe. Though told in three simple issues, it was the first Marvel superhero tale with apocalyptic stakes. Galactus, intent on devouring Earth, is portrayed more so as a force of nature than a mustache-twirling super-villain. Then there's his herald, the Silver Surfer, who is touched by humanity and turns against his master.

Marvel Comics has revealed that there will be a different Who Is? What If...? Galactus story every week starting in January. Each week, a different hero will be given Herald duties; the heroes to be powered up include Hulk, Gambit, Moon Knight, Rogue, and Spider-Gwen. The new cosmic looks were created by Silver Surfer artist Ron Lim.

The heroes getting powered up include Hulk, Gambit, Moon Knight, Rogue, and Spider-Gwen. The new cosmic looks are designed by visionary Silver Surfer artist Ron Lim.

Marvel Comics has unveiled their plans for Daredevil’s birthday, his 60th, which is in April. Created in 1964, the extra-sized special will continue Saldin Ahmed and Aaron Kuder’s run, along with guest talents with additional stories. Fans can find it in comic shops on April 17th.
