    It’s the second year St. Albert Rotary Club has organized the local initiative St. Albert Fights Hunger. It was deemed a success and organizers hope to host a similar event soon. “Eight years ago we organized the first event and it was quite an undertaking. Part of the gap was due to the effect COVID had on things. It put it under the radar. But our president (Darija Slokar) this year was adamant she wanted to see greater community involvement,” said Andre Charrois, event chair.

    The Arden Theatre transforms into a swamp filled with fairy tale characters on May 14 and 15 for two productions of Shrek the Musical. École Secondaire St. Albert Catholic High School and Vincent J. Maloney Catholic Junior High have joined forces to produce this family-friendly musical. One of Broadway’s biggest successes, the show is packed with relatable characters, catchy songs, humorous moments, and an easily accessible plotline.

    In 2024, Rainmaker Festival's Rock Night introduced Headphone Disco – a dance concept with plug and play wireless headphones. After listening to feedback from participants, organizers are switching back to a more traditional format with The Rural Alberta Advantage (RAA) as headliner and The Royal Foundry as openers. RAA, an award-winning folk-rock trio performs on Friday, May 23. It has rolled out five studio albums and various singles.
