This spring, New Orleans joined the rising worldwide student movement. Led by Tulane and Loyola students in their encampment, hundreds gathered in hope and prayer to call for a cease-fire in Gaza, an end to the occupation of Palestine and divestment from Zionism. New Orleanians from all walks of life showed up and contributed their time and their voices, their books, food, games, medical supplies and even free massage therapy and counseling.

As more students take online courses and universities expand their online offerings, it is incumbent on colleges and universities to invest in marketing these effectively. At the undergrad level, the percentage of students enrolled exclusively in online courses in 2019 was 15%. In 2021, that number rose to 28%. At the graduate level, it’s a similar story — the numbers rose from 33% in 2019 to 40% in 2021.
