Seventy years after developing countries banded together to form the Group of 77 (G77) during the first United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the group is still—and perhaps increasingly so—a formidable force at the United Nations. Yet the decision-making processes of the G77 remain enigmatic.
