    The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication will hold the 48th annual Murrow Symposium on April 3-4. This year’s theme “Illuminate! The Power of Untold Stories,” was selected to challenge assumptions, ignite empathy, and deepen understanding of the diverse human experience. The symposium features 22 sessions including keynotes, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops led by industry leaders from around the world.

    VANCOUVER, Wash. – Conditions that usually accompany the kind of intense hot and cold weather that strains power grids may also provide greater opportunities to capture solar and wind energy. A Washington State University-led study found that widespread, extreme temperature events are often accompanied by greater solar radiation and higher wind speeds that could be captured by solar panels and wind turbines.

    March 27, 2024 The Washington State University Women’s Basketball team will play on their home court Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Women’s Basketball Invitational TournamentTipoff at Beasley Coliseum is scheduled for 6 p.m., with tickets available online and the game being streamed live on ESPN+. WSU claimed victories over Lamar and Santa Clara in the first two rounds of the inaugural WBIT tournament.

    Visitors to the Washington State University Pullman campus will see some alternative routes beginning Monday, April 1. According to Welch Comer Engineers, the $11.7 million Project Downtown Pullman includes replacement of sub-surface sewer, water and stormwater lines, as well as new sidewalks, curbs, and landscaping. The project will cover the five blocks of Main Street between Spring Street and Grand Avenue.

    Anne McCoy, WSU’s senior deputy director of athletics and senior woman administrator, will serve as Washington State University’s interim director of intercollegiate athletics as a national search gets underway for a full-time replacement. WSU President Kirk Schulz announced the appointment on March 27. McCoy will continue to serve in the role until a permanent director is named. “Anne is an outstanding administrator and a dyed-in-the-wool Coug,” Schulz said.
