Pupils from an Edinburgh school are gearing up to race an electric kit car they have built themselves in class. Students from Queensferry High School built the DIY vehicle from scratch in just a matter of months, with the aim of racing it against other schools at East Fortune Race Circuit in the spring. The project was supported by local housebuilders Cala Homes (East) and Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, as well as the Edinburgh Airport Community Fund.

Scottish based PR, Social and Digital agency, Tigerbond, has unveiled Tigers in the Wild, a project that will give a year’s worth of pro bono support to deserving community causes across the UK. The initiative will see its 80-strong team across London, Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast deliver a year’s worth of team time and expertise to charities, not for profits, community groups and start-ups.

An opticians in Edinburgh has helped to contribute to recycling over a quarter of a ton of glasses and accessories that customers have dropped off. The total has been unveiled by Specsavers Blackhall Sainsbury’s in Craigleith Retail Park and marks reaching a significant milestone since the initiative began two years ago. Teaming up with recycling experts MYgroup, a collection point has been available in the store for customers to recycle their unwanted specs, cases and contact lens packaging.
