    I once met a British woman on a plane between Edinburgh and London, and we chatted about transatlantic travel. “Americans come over here to look at old buildings, don’t they?” she said. “And we go over there for the fifty-foot waterslides.” True enough! So it might surprise you that I've found a British tourist to the U.S. who was very interested in American society and culture, and not at all in fifty-foot waterslides.
