Tradewinds Tire & Services, Inc., opened for appointments April 22, and though finishing touches are still being completed on the building at 2614 Tradewinds Way, the business is booming.     The Sanders County Democrats met recently to elect new officers, and chairperson Shelley Eisenrich is excited about the participation the group is seeing. Eisenrich said they had 16 people attend their virtual meeting on May 23, where they elected Charles Bickenheuser as vice chairperson, Miriah Myton as secretary and Andrew Cabaccang as treasurer. “I’m grateful to find new officers,” Eisenrich said.

    U.S. Rep. Ryan Zinke is asking Congress to fund several western Montana projects, including three in Sanders County. The 15 projects were part of a package submitted by the congressman to the House Appropriations Committee, of which he is a member.     Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) is conducting a voluntary survey to track participation in the new Western Fishing District spearfishing opportunity for northern pike. Starting in 2025, a licensed angler can spear northern pike while swimming or submerged in waters open to fishing, or as otherwise noted under District Standards. Spears may be hand-propelled or propelled with a spring or rubber band.
