I am a lifelong reality TV watcher. I remember watching Cops with my mom, aunt, and cousins on Fox 5 New York on Saturday nights. (Hey, it was the 1980s and we didn't have cable.) The Real World was appointment viewing from my preteen years to my early twenties, basically the first season in New York City to the 12th one in Las Vegas.

For the past several months, I've really gotten into watching thriller films. My requirements are that they either have a comedic theme and/or a suspension of beliefs element to them, like M3GAN and Abigail, or are cerebral, macabre, or gory, such as The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster and Speak No Evil. So after watching the trailer for A24's Opus, I knew it would be the perfect movie to stream this upcoming stormy weekend in the Bronx.

Karen Huger was taken into police custody, once again, after officially being sentenced today in a Montgomery County Circuit Court to two years in prison, with one year suspended, for her drunk driving case. The "Grand Dame" of The Real Housewives of Potomac will also have to serve five years probation for the single vehicle crash into a street sign in March 2024. Body camera footage from her arrest at the scene and her interrogation showed Huger visibly intoxicated and slurring her words.
