As the book closes on another stellar scholastic baseball season in South Jersey, we would like to honor some of the best performances. Congratulations to Cherry Hill West on winning the 50th Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic and claiming the top spot in the Courier-Post Mean 15 rankings in the process. The team’s 3-1 win over Delsea gave the Lions their first Diamond Classic title since 1989. Cherry Hill West also is responsible for knocking Gloucester Catholic from atop the Mean 15 for the first time this season. The Rams fell to Cherry Hill West, 2-0, in the Diamond Classic semifinals, putting an end to their 28-game winning streak.
