    The NFL Draft is upon us and the Bengals are honing in on their targets to improve the team. Defensive line is an area in which they will likely address early, and there are many intriguing names in this year’s class. We introduced “The Wheel” last year with a number of positions, comprised of possible Bengals targets. We break it out again for the defensive line class.     The Cincinnati Bengals’ defense needs a big rebound this year. Since the purging of the roster after the 2023 offseason and age catching up with other players, the unit has taken steps backward over the past two seasons. Gone is Lou Anarumo, who was the architect of a bend-but-don’t-break, yet somehow-clutch unit that we became accustomed to in 2021-2022, and in comes a familiar face, Al Golden.

    When it comes to the second round, the Cincinnati Bengals have a track record not only of drafting running backs on whom they rely heavily but also of netting productive players. Ickey Woods, Harold Green, Corey Dillon, Kenny Irons, Giovani Bernard, and Joe Mixon were all picks made in this round, with varying degrees of success.
