    By Anthony O. Goriainoff Alphawave IP Group said the deadline for Qualcomm to either announce a firm intention to make a takeover offer or walk away has been extended. The U.K. semiconductor company on Monday said the deadline is now set to May 27, and that both parties are engaged in the negotiations in respect of a possible offer. A prior deadline had been extended to May 12 from April 29.

The halting of the project is expected to incur costs of 3.5 billion to 4.5 billion Danish kroner ($533.3 million-$685.7 million), which would in turn hit earnings before interest taxes, depreciation and amortization by 3 billion to 3.5 billion kroner, it said.
