Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision is going to be a big one, and will see Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale renew their rivalry in singles action. In their first match since last year at AEW All Out, it’ll be Statlander and Nightingale in the ring. The match was confirmed during Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Also planned for the night, “Speedball” Mike Bailey will face off against Dralístico, and Anthony Bowens will step up against Lee Johnson. Daniel Garcia will also be in action.

During Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, the company unveiled a new theme song for the show, provided by popular Canadian rock band Sum 41. Tonight’s show opened with the song “You Wanted War” from the band, providing the new sound for the show. The song itself comes from Sum 41’s Heaven :x: Hell, its eighth and final studio album, released in March 2024.

A rumor was circulating on why EJ Nduka is no longer with All Elite Wrestling, with the superstar and a new report responding to it. Things began with an early report from Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp. In his report, sources noted that AEW was finding it hard to put Nduka next to anyone without fear of Nduka “outshining” them. The report mentions that this is a typical reasoning for why physically large talent have trouble in situations, but that there was nothing concrete to suggest it.

The WWE Intercontinental Championship will be on the line at Backlash, in a match between two polarizing figures. As announced during tonight’s episode of WWE RAW, Dominik Mysterio will defend his newly won title against Penta. The match came together after a backstage segment on RAW, where Mysterio and The Judgment Day were informed of the match. AJ Styles was also on hand, and said he would be coming after the winner of the match.
