The Seton Hall Men’s Basketball team took the court Monday for their first official practice of the 2023-2024 men’s basketball season. This practice time is pivotal for the new faces on the roster to build chemistry before the start of the season. In what will be a loaded Big East Conference, the Pirates will rely on the leadership of three returning major contributors from last season. Shaheen Holloway has named Kadary Richmond, Al-Amir Dawes and Dre Davis captains for the upcoming season.

The Seton Hall Pirates finalized their 2023-2024 men’s basketball roster with the addition of freshman Malachi Brown. Brown is 6-foot-1 true point guard from Brooklyn. He played his high school basketball in South Carolina at Legacy Early College, where he averaged 22.6 points and 4.3 assists per game. Brown will have the opportunity to earn playing time behind Kadary Richmond, who is the only returning Pirate who has experience playing point guard.

The Seton Hall Pirates have completed summer workouts and will begin the fall semester on Monday, August 28th. Before the semester begins, the Pirates have taken another step towards completing their roster for the upcoming season. That addition comes internationally from Turkey. Andra Ozdogan a 6-foot-8 center, who is 18 years old, has officially committed to Seton Hall and will play for the Pirates this season.

Seton Hall announced today that they will officially break ground on a state of the art practice facility for the basketball programs this summer. The practice facility will be located within the Richie Regan Recreation & Athletic Center on the South Orange campus. The basketball practice facility will include a new basketball court, locker rooms, lounges, offices, sports medicine room, film room and a strength and conditioning room.

The Seton Hall Pirates uncovered buried treasure this weekend, which is a rare instance for this late in the recruiting cycle for the upcoming basketball season. The diamond in the rough for the Pirates comes in the shape of a 6-foot-10 power forward. Seton Hall landed a commitment from Sadraque Nganga, who will be taking his talents to South Orange from Boise State. Nganga was a four-star recruit in the class of 2022.

Seton Hall added another vital piece to the puzzle for next years men’s basketball roster today. Former four star recruit Marcus Watson will be transferring to Seton Hall from North Carolina A&T. Watson who played his high school basketball in Georgia, was the number 96 ranked high school player in the country in 2019 by Rivals.com. The highly touted Watson committed to Oklahoma State University out of high school. Watson spent one season at Oklahoma State.

Boomer Esiason is used to being under center in the old Giants Stadium. Thursday evening, he lined up under center in New Jersey once again. This time however, he wasn’t in the friendly confines of the old Giants Stadium. He was under center at Saint John Vianney High School taking some of the most meaningful snaps of his lifetime. When people think of Esiason, they think of former NFL MVP or sports radio host. What shouldn’t be overlooked, is how active he is with various charities.

Jaden Bediako has decided to to take his talents to South Orange from Santa Clara, to help bolster the Pirates' front court. The 6-foot-10 big man averaged six points and five rebounds per game in twenty-three minutes last season for the Broncos.

After just one year in South Orange, Seton Hall guard Femi Odukale will be entering the transfer portal for the second time. The junior guard who transferred to Seton Hall from Pittsburgh, was a major contributor for Seton Hall last season. Odukale played nearly 28 minutes a game for the Pirates, scoring over seven points per game. Odukale ,who is from Brooklyn, was a starter for majority of his first season with Seton Hall.
