Griffith was last year sentenced to life in prison with a non-parole period of 27 years after pleading guilty to more than 300 charges in daycares in Brisbane and Italy over a period spanning almost two decades. He is not eligible to apply for parole until 2049.

A review into the safety of homeschooling in Queensland has found 35 cases of children living in high-risk environments. The Queensland Family and Child Commission (QFCC) review involved matching data from the education and child safety departments and police to find the number of incidents recorded between between 2021 and 2023 in a sample of 500 children.
