MAPFRE and CONMEBOL announced the sponsorship agreement where the largest multinational insurance company in Latin America will be present in the largest football club competition on the continent. The agreement, which begins in May 2024 and extends until December 2026, includes sponsorship by CONMEBOL Libertadores, and consists of brand activations and promotions in all matches of the competition in all countries where the tournament is held.

The new Strategic Plan strengthens growth in all lines of business and the result improves in most countries. Premiums grow 4.6%, surpassing €8.1 billion, while revenue stands at close to €9.4 billion. Significant improvement of 2.7 points in the Non-Life combined ratio (95.8%) and a greater contribution from the financial result. The ROE exceeds 10%. LATAM, especially BRAZIL, continues to be the growth engine for the Group with a 9.1% increase in premiums and €94 million in earnings.

The MAPFRE Annual General Meeting has approved various resolutions, including the financial accounts for the fiscal year 2023. This marks the first year in which these accounts were reported in accordance with the new international accounting standards, IFRS 9 and 17. Under these new accounting standards, net earnings in 2023 amounted to 677 million euros (692 million under local accounting). In addition, the distribution of a total dividend of 0.15 euros gross per share was approved.

MAPFRE’s net result reaches €692 million (+7.7%) and the adjusted ROE is nearly 10%The net result would have stood at €767 million (+19.4%), without the €75 million goodwill writedown in the United States. Premiums are up 9.7%, reaching nearly €27 billion, the highest figure in the company’s history, while revenue grew 9.2%, reaching over €32.2 billion. IBERIA is the unit with the highest premium growth, with an increase of 15.8%.
