Mourners, elected officials and police officers from across the state gathered in Forest Park Wednesday for the funeral of slain Chicago police Officer Krystal Rivera, the first CPD officer killed in the line of duty this year. Rivera, a CPD officer for four years, was assigned to a tactical team in the Gresham District (6th) when she was unintentionally killed by her partner which chasing a suspect. She is survived by her adolescent daughter.

The Archdiocese of Chicago celebrated the historic election of Chicago-born Pope Leo XIV on June 14 at Rate Field, home of the White Sox. The program included music, film, in-person testimonials and prayer. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated afterward. On May 8, Prevost made history as the first American-born pope in the Catholic church’s 2,000-year history. The 69-year-old Augustinian missionary was raised in south suburban Dolton and earned his master’s in divinity from Chicago Theological Union.

Si esto no tiene un tufo preelectoral, la verdad es que se le parece mucho. Pero, en realidad, la cascada de encuestas que ha caído sobre Sánchez estos últimos días lo que hará será enrocarlo aún más. Porque el primero que no se cree a Tezanos es él. Digo Tezanos porque el CIS ya no existe como tal y lo suyo no es un sondeo, sino un guiso a la carta. Así que aguantará porque no tiene más remedio y aunque cuanto más aguante será para peor.
