1. IntroductionPolar icebreakers play a pivotal role when confronted with the extreme cold and thick ice cover of polar regions. They provide essential support for resource exploration, trade, and scientific research. The icebreaking performance of polar icebreakers depends on various factors, with particular attention given to the impact of cavitation on propeller efficiency [1]. The cavitation performance of the propeller near the free surface is affected by ice blockage and the free surface.

Data sourcesWe obtained 3-year rolling average age-standardised mortality rates (ASMRs), standardised to the 2013 European Standard Population, for England and Scotland by sex for all ages between 1990–1992 and 2017–2019 from the Office for National Statistics to allow a comparison between mortality and mental health trends.
