The specificity of the TaqMan qPCR assay was proven by negative results of all the tested viruses except for pigeon parvovirus 1. The sensitivity of the qPCR assay was determined as 3.018 copies of the amplicon/μl. The standard curve reflecting the results of the sensitivity test is illustrated in Additional file 1, and its characteristics are as follows: slope − 3.4458, efficiency 95%, error 0.23, R2 1.00 and Y-intercept 34.96.
