Pitt football has gone through quite a bit of change since the end of its 2024 season. A season marked by an elite start that ended with six straight losses has seen personnel turnover on both sides of the ball. In their last four games, including the playoff loss to the Ravens to end the season, Watt did not record a single statistic. Pitt men’s basketball will travel to Tallahassee on Wednesday night to take on Florida State and try to break a losing bout that began against Duke and continued with a home loss to Louisville. PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Panthers trailed by 32, 46-14, with a minute to go in the second quarter of the Pitt Women's Basketball matchup against the SMU Mustangs. When the clock hit zero, however, the Panthers emerged victorious by 13 in a 72-59 win. The 32 point comeback by the Panthers is tied for the largest comeback in Division 1 Women's Basketball history, shared with Texas State, who trailed UTSA 40-8 before winning 73-71 in overtime on February 18, 2006.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers fell to the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card round of this year's NFL Playoffs. Other than a touchdown from wideout George Pickens, the team on the offensive side of the ball was unimpressive. One player who was entirely uninvolved was offensive utlity player Cordarrelle Patterson, who did not receive a touch in the Steelers loss.

PITTSBURGH -- Head Coach Mike Tomlin's catchphrase that has permeated his entire tenure at the helm of the Pittsburgh Steelers has been "The standard is the standard." Tomlin's catchphrase has no specific meaning, but most believe that it refers to the idea that success is expected by both Steelers fans and those who contribute to the team. At this point, the "standard" needs to change.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers will possibly be without the services of defensive lineman Cam Heyward for the remainder of their Wild Card matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens scored a touchdown on a sack evasion by Lamar Jackson, who passed the ball to Justice Hill to end the half. On the play, Heyward was unable to complete his sack on Jackson. Following the play, Heyward was seen walking with trainers to the away team locker room, and was walking at quite a slow pace.
