Colin Barczi wasn't supposed to pick up a bat. Barczi has been dealing with lower back soreness that caused him to miss Vanderbilt baseball's last two games against Oklahoma. He was available to catch, but he wasn't supposed to hit in the Commodores' game against Lipscomb. But in the 10th inning, it was Barczi who hit the walk-off single to give Vanderbilt the 5-4 win. While the fall transfer portal is the main event, Vanderbilt football must also contend with the spring transfer portal window. Most of the top players transfer during the fall window, but the spring window is often used to fill holes after teams have concluded spring practice. Some teams also make cuts during the spring window if they are over the roster limit. The spring window also has caused many teams to cancel their spring games or refuse to televise them.

As many as 14 teams still have paths to the postseason. Texas takes over the No. 1 spot in the power rankings this week after a series win over Kentucky, becoming the fourth team to hold the No. 1 spot this season. 1.
